NOTES

'Genetic Engineering' is an extended mix of the 7" version.

'Genetic Engineering' was inspired by Andy's interest in the subject. Rather than take a reactionary stance, Andy was more interested in the benefits of genetic engineering, such as the eradication of genetically transmitted diseases.

'4-Neu' is a tribute to 70's German band Neu! - a band, like Kraftwerk, that were a big influence on Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys prior to OMD.

  

TRIVIA

In a bid to be somewhat different, the 12" version goes metric.

The female vocal on 'Genetic Engineering' is Maureen Humphreys - Paul Humphreys' wife at the time.

The robotic voice is actually a Speak And Spell - a childrens electronic spelling toy.
