Dazzle Ships has always enjoyed a curious position in OMD's extensive catalogue of record releases. On the one hand it's regarded as the album that brought their successful career to a dramatic halt, on the other it's the album that's simply adored by die-hard OMD fans.
The combination of pure pop songs alongside more experimental tracks that embrace radio samples, library sound effects and speaking clock recordings will always serve to divide listeners.
Despite the album's fractured construction, Dazzle Ships emerges as a particularly distinctive OMD album that has its own sound, its own visual identity and its own unique place in OMD history.
