OMD Singles
RED FRAME/WHITE LIGHT

NOTES

The exterior shots were filmed in Muswell Hill, London and does not include the actual 'Red Frame/White Light' telephone box (which is in Meols, Merseyside).

The Roland CR-78 drum machine which provides the intro to the song can be seen in the opening segments of the video. The CR-78 was also used on 'Enola Gay'.

This video was originally believed to have been lost as it wasn't part of Virgin's video archive. However, Paul Humphreys discovered that he had a copy on tape at home which later led to it being included on the 2008 compilation Messages.

TRIVIA

The video was only shown once on TV in Spring 1980 (during OMD's first headlining tour). Andy and Paul were asked to do an interview for a Saturday morning TV show at Tyne Tees Television. 'Red Frame/White Light' was out as a single and the TV show wanted to play the video and do an interview.

Paul and Andy left the tour one morning to drive to Newcastle to record the show. But the recording ran late only leaving enough time to show the video, yet Andy and Paul were already on set. The show ended with everyone waving goodbye, including Paul and Andy with everyone wondering who they were!
